Our Story
The Jewish community of Lower Merion is growing by leaps and bounds.
Families from all over are laying down roots and building their lives here.
They seek to be part of an inviting shul (synagogue), where tefilah (prayer) and Torah observance are filled with joy and meaning.
Since its humble beginnings in 2021, BALA CHABAD has quickly garnered a reputation for its lively spirit, warm environment, and uplifting tefilah.
Families of diverse hashkafot (philosophies) and minhagim (customs) are eagerly joining our burgeoning Shul. The community we are building is one of inclusivity and learning, where our common love of Judaism brings us together to celebrate Torah observance with passion and cheer.
BALA CHABAD is powered by Ahavat Yisrael (love for your fellow) and Simcha (joy in the service of G‑d), and is guided by Halacha (Jewish ritual law) and the teachings of Chassidus (Chassidic philosophy).
We aspire to be a hub of chesed (kindness), an address for spirituality and learning, and a bridge to make the gift of Torah and mitzvot accessible to the broader public.
